28th April 2018 – Sean Lawless of Bill Free Homes ‘A Walk for Andy’

Charity walk set to take place on the 28th April 2018, raising money for the Christie, taking in 3 local cricket grounds.

On the 28th April, the first annual Walk for Andy will be taking place. A seven mile walk which will take in the opening Bolton Cricket League games at Horwich RMI CC, Adlington CC and finish at Blackrod CC. The seven mile walk also includes a stop at seven local pubs along the way including Blackedge Brewery in Horwich and the Elephant and Castle in Adlington.

The walk has been organised in memory of former Blackrod CC player and chairman, Andy Hartley, who last year passed away after a battle with bowel cancer. The former RAF Flight Sergeant was a regular spectator at the three grounds in which the walk will be taking in.

Along the way, the walkers will be raising money for The Christie, a place in which Andy spent many days at in his fight against cancer.

Former Great Britain Rugby League captain, Phil Clarke, a friend of Andy’s is also hoping to be on the walk.

The walk is expected to attract over between 50 and 100 walkers and anyone that wishes to join is more than welcome to do so. Full details of the walk and route can be found at www.walkforandy.com
