Agents Giving announces its Fundraising Champions for 2013

Agents Giving has announced its ‘Fundraising Champions’ for 2013, those who have made a significant contribution to the charity over the 12 month period.

  • Urban and Rural, estate agent across Bedfordshire, raised £5,000 by taking on the daunting challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro.
  • Paramount, based in Northwest London, donated an impressive 25% of March lettings fees and volunteered at a local homeless shelter
  • Andrews in Eastbourne raised over £3,000 at their Christmas Cake Bake
  • myhomemove undertook a charity auction, which raised £7,000 and were sponsors of the Great British Property Cycle 2013. They continue to support Agents Giving upcoming initiatives.
  • Whitegates have been stuck in throughout 2013 and staff are now looking to do sky diving, charity runs and yet another coffee morning
  • The Negotiator – Fundraising Auction at the Negotiator Awards which raised £6,500

Peter Knight, Chairman at Agents Giving, comments: “The fact that we have so many fundraising heroes this year emphasises that estate agents are in fact a generous bunch willing to put time and effort aside to raise money for good causes.”

“Our recent survey showed that in 2013 estate agents across the UK raised an average £13 million for good causes – no mean feat! Our Fundraising Heroes were a significant part of this fundraising effort and have therefore been honoured with our Fundraising Champions accolade. We hope that in 2014 they continue with their valiant efforts, whilst having fun at the same time!”

Steve Kirk of Whitegates summed up the general feeling amongst Fundraising Champions: “The award makes us all feel very humble, but even more determined to support the cause.”

About Agents Giving
Agents Giving was launched as The Estate Agency Foundation (The EAF) in November 2007 and was rebranded in February 2014 in order to expand its opportunities to support charities. It has the following objectives:

  • Agents Giving encourages and supports agents throughout the UK to raise funds for charitable causes
  • Agents Giving brings together the whole industry to contribute to charitable causes throughout the UK
  • Agents Giving raises funds from supporters’ activities and central fundraising events which will be distributed to established and recognised charities in the UK

Supported Charities
Subject to conditions, Agents Giving will augment donation made by supporters to their local charities by 10%

*Conditions:
• The contribution per agent is capped at £500 per donation.
• The offer is subject to funds being available and will be processed on a first come first served basis.
• The Board of Agents Giving can decline donations to charities that do not meet our criteria.
• All charities must be UK based.
• The additional 10% will be paid to charities at the end of the year.
• 10% will not be added to money raised through any other fund matching schemes.
• 10% will not be added to funds raised through gift aid.
