Agents Giving Steps up for London and Ultra Marathon challenge

Agents Giving Steps up for London and Ultra Marathon challenge

With support from property industry charity, Agents Giving, Ben Quiney from Audio Agent is running the London Marathon with his brother Ollie on the 23rd April, in aid of Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal charity and aims to raise £4,000. The following Saturday, Ben will also run The Ultra Marathon, The Fellsman covering more than 60 miles over very hard rugged moorland. The event climbs over 11,000 feet in its path from Ingleton to Threshfield in the Yorkshire Dales.

Ben and Ollie have been inspired to raise money for this charity after Ollie and wife Amy sadly lost their newborn daughter Minnie at just one day old, due to an undetected lung infection. Ben said: “Minnie was absolutely beautiful; perfect in every way. I will cherish the few short moments I had cuddling and holding Minnie forever, she was and is an angel. This was an extremely traumatic and upsetting experience, one which Ollie, Amy and both their families will never get over or really truly understand.” Moments after losing Minnie, Sands kindly provided a memory box as a way to create some memories which can be cherished. Unfortunately, this was all Ollie and Amy walked away with from the hospital that day.

Ben adds: “In May last year, Ollie and Amy had their third child Arlo, just like Alfie (their first child) and Minnie (their second), Arlo is beautiful and awesome. As soon as Arlo was born we started discussing things we could do to support the people who supported Ollie and Amy over the previous years. We now feel like it’s the right time for us to do something for these amazing people.”

The Sands Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity was founded in 1978 by a small group of bereaved parents. The charity aims to support people around the UK who are affected by the death of a baby, improve the care bereaved parents receive and promote research to prevent the loss of perinatal deaths.

Ben concludes: “It’s going to be an emotional and brilliant day in so many ways, and we can’t think of a better way to do something really positive for Minnie. Ollie and I aim to cross the line together but in all honesty, in the style of the Brownlee brothers, probably! We can’t wait for the sprint finish to see who wins and who is in fact, the best brother!”

In partnership with Rightmove, Agents Giving is supporting Ben Quiney with his fundraising for Sands Charity, thanks to a Rightmove Grant, which will help with costs of £400.
