Launch of new Agents Giving Day

Agents Giving is launching its brand new annual event – Agents Giving Day – on the 21st June. The name of the game, as ever, is for agents to raise as much money as possible for charity or to help out local causes. The difference is that this is one day, one concerted effort which demonstrates to the world the community-mindedness of agents.

The way in which agents choose to raise funds or undertake community activities is entirely down to them. You can get stuck in to the local community and give your local recreation centre a fresh lick of paint or you can let your inner Alan Titchmarsh, Charlie Dimmock out by tidying up the pond at the local park. There are things you can do from the comfort of your office too – fancy dress day for example. Imagine showing viewers round a property dressed as Daffy Duck, all in the name of charity.

Agents Giving patron, Phil Spencer has put out this call to arms: “It does exactly what it says on the tin! Agents Giving day is a day when all members pledge to do something for a good cause whether it’s litter picking, helping out at the local homeless shelter or dredging the pond at the local park. By getting together in this way for one big event we are demonstrating to the communities around the country the generosity and community mindedness of agents.”

So calling all agents – come up with a great idea and get people to sponsor you. One way to spread the word is tweeting your idea using the hash tag #AgentsGivingDay. Let’s hope it starts trending.

About Agents Giving
Agents Giving was launched as The Estate Agency Foundation (The EAF) in November 2007 and was rebranded in February 2014 in order to expand its opportunities to support charities. It has the following objectives:

  • Agents Giving encourages and supports agents throughout the UK to raise funds for charitable causes
  • Agents Giving brings together the whole industry to contribute to charitable causes throughout the UK
  • Agents Giving raises funds from supporters’ activities and central fundraising events which will be distributed to established and recognised charities in the UK

Supported Charities
Subject to conditions, Agents Giving will augment donation made by supporters to their local charities by 10%

*Conditions
•  The ‘top-up’ contribution from Agents Giving is limited to £500 per donation. A single donation is defined as agents/branches of one brand proposing to give at the same time to the same charity
•  The offer is subject to funds being available and will be processed on a first come first served basis
•  The Board of Agents Giving can decline donations to charities that do not meet our criteria. All charities must be UK based
