Reeds Rains bolsters Agents Giving fundraising through roadshow raffles

Leading estate agency network Reeds Rains has just completed a series of corporate roadshows across the UK for staff, each featuring a raffle competition which collectively raised a grand total of £2,500 for Agents Giving.

Tickets were sold at each regional event, in Bexley, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Warrington and Harrogate, up and down the high-street, to local people, clients as well as the Reeds Rains agents. The raffle prizes were donated by local retailers and included champagne and luxury hampers as well as meals at local restaurants.

Oliver Blake, Managing Director at Reeds Rains, commented: “It’s a real boost for our business to get behind Agents Giving and get involved together as a team, with everyone having fun and raising vital funds at the same time. I am proud to say that even in this particularly busy market my colleagues are able to give up their time to raise money for the very worthy causes that Agents Giving supports.

“We started to get involved with the charity about a year ago and our participation has snowballed since then, ranging from marathons to iron man competitions and even placing our agents in the stocks on the High Street, with passers by paying to give it their best shot. Luckily they were only pelted with sponges!”

Peter Knight, Chairman of Agents Giving, also commented: “This is such a simple idea, but effective – coupling your roadshow events with other activities, right at the heart of the community. The support we have received from Reeds Rains over the last year, getting involved in all sorts of activities, is just what we need and there is more than enough room for other agents to follow suit.”

About Agents Giving

Agents Giving was launched as The Estate Agency Foundation (The EAF) in November 2007 and was rebranded in February 2014 in order to expand its opportunities to support charities. It has the following objectives:

  • Agents Giving encourages and supports agents throughout the UK to raise funds for charitable causes
  • Agents Giving brings together the whole industry to contribute to charitable causes throughout the UK
  • Agents Giving raises funds from supporters’ activities and central fundraising events which will be distributed to established and recognised charities in the UK

Supported Charities
Subject to conditions, Agents Giving will augment donation made by supporters to their local charities by 10%

Conditions
• The ‘top-up’ contribution from Agents Giving is limited to £500 per donation. A single donation is defined as agents/branches of one brand proposing to give at the same time to the same charity
• The offer is subject to funds being available and will be processed on a first come first served basis
• The Board of Agents Giving can decline donations to charities that do not meet our criteria. All charities must be UK based
