Supporting local families affected by domestic abuse

On Friday 20th October 2023, The Property Angels Foundation CIC will be hosting the Annual Angels Ball at the Priory Centre, St Neots and Noonan Residential are in full support.

LAST YEAR THE ANGELS BALL WAS A SELL OUT, WITH OVER 180 GUESTS ATTENDING!

Caroline Deeprose of Noonan Residential is supporting The Property Angels Foundation CIC who have been supporting local families affected by domestic abuse since 2020, providing basic home comforts such as flooring and furniture. Sadly, demand for our services continues to grow at a rapid rate.

Their work prevents poverty trauma, improves mental health, and gives a safe space in their home for healing to start, reducing both the risk that they return to abusers and the risk of toxic debt/falling prey to loan sharks.

Fundraising is vital for the Angles Foundation CIC

These statistics, sadly reinforce why the work we do is so needed:

  • 98% of social housing is totally unfurnished – no carpets, no white goods, no furniture, no window coverings.
  • Average individual debt of women escaping domestic abuse has risen 6-fold since 2020 to £20,000.
  • 95% of women experiencing domestic abuse report experiencing financial abuse.
  • The cost of furniture has risen 40% in 10yrs, but 16.8% in just one year of the cost-of-living crisis.
  • 73% of women living with and having financial links with the abuser, say that the cost-of-living crisis has prevented them from leaving or made it harder to leave.
  • 50% of survivors report they are unable to afford essentials for their children.

Fundraising is vital so The Property Angels Foundation CIC can continue to respond to urgent requests for help, so it is imperative the ball is a success.
