As more and more people are turning to food banks Agents Giving are encouraging the industry to help tackle hunger in their local communities by collecting items that food banks urgently require and donate to their local food bank. It is these essential food items and toiletries, baby items and hygiene products which make up the parcels and make the all-important delivery to the food banks to give them the supplies they so desperately need in the current times.
You can support your local food bank by donating non-perishable items to help those facing hunger in your community.
Most food banks are calling out for the below list of items:
You can also check on the food banks website for their most updated list.
Many local supermarkets have a donation points in store with a list of what they require so keep an eye out for the list the next time you are out doing your grocery shopping, even an extra couple of items can help make a difference.
These donations are vital to enable food banks to continue to help those referred to them.
Yvonne Martin of Agents Giving comments “This year our aim is to double the items donated and provide local food banks with the support they need to operate throughout the year, its so easy to take part just collect up the items your local food bank is in need of using your office as a collection point and then donate onto your food bank who will be ever so grateful for the support”.
