I did not start out to be a serious swimmer
Harry Middleton of Fine & Country Hammersmith is no stranger to tough challenges. Harry tells “I didn’t start off as a serious swimmer. In fact, I got booted out of my first swim school for…. lets just say messing around. But when an Achilles injury ended my rugby career, I was pushed into swimming for rehab, and that’s where things took a turn.
I went from struggling to stay in a swim club to qualifying for counties, regionals, and eventually earning a national time and multiple national medals. Training in a high-performance centre with Olympic coaches taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and grit.
It’s also the reason I was able to swim the Channel, have I mentioned that before, that I swam the channel”.
Swimming around Jersey for Stroke Association after losing my gran last year
Harry’s next challenge is to swim around Jersey on 19th September 2025 for Stroke Association after losing his gran last year.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt.
