Michael Jacobs Director at SMJBC Homes T/A Benjamin Stevens has taken to the pitch for his second five a side football match. Michael tells “In February 2024 my mum was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an incurable grade 4 cancer in the brain.
Travelling to and from the hospital five days a week for six weeks for mum to undergo treatment enabled us to build quite a relationship with many different departments at UCLH, in particular the radiotherapy team. Whilst navigating such a tragic time in our lives, the staff at the hospital have been absolutely amazing and it made our decision very easy when wanting to give something back for all their help.
In July 2024 I organised a charity 5-a-side football tournament. We had 10 teams (two groups of 5) and the top two went into a semi final and final.
After the incredible success of last year’s event, I’m proud to be hosting my annual charity 5-a-side football tournament once again at Mill Hill Power league on Sunday 29th June 2025 – held in loving memory of my mum, Gina Goldberg, who tragically passed away last June following a short battle with cancer”.
“It will always be a deep sadness to me that my mum never got to see me build the business I’ve now started with Benjamin Stevens Estate Agents. She watched me move between jobs over the years and by the time I found my path, it was too late for her to see it take shape. I can only hope she’s watching from above, proud of what’s to come.
The team at University College Hospital London were outstanding in the care they gave to my mum and I’m honoured to be giving something back to UCLH Charity through this event.
Agents Giving and The Guild of Property Professional are delighted to support Michaels five aside football match.
