Dawsons Leads the Way with Nationwide “Restart a Heart” Campaign 29 Sep 2025

Restart a Heart Day

This October, Dawsons Estate Agents is spearheading a ground-breaking initiative with Heartbeat Trust UK to support Restart a Heart Day (16th October 2025). As the first UK estate agency to introduce a company-wide Multi Trauma Box (Defib and Critical Bleed Control (CBC) kit) training programme, Dawsons is paving the way for the property industry—and inviting agents across the country to join them through Agents Giving.

The campaign launches in Swansea, recognised as the UK’s first “defib-friendly city,” where every Dawsons branch will be taking part in live training sessions over the coming weeks. Delivered by Heartbeat Trust UK, the training will give every Dawsons team member the skills and confidence to use defibrillators and Critical Bleed Control Kits during an emergency. Importantly, all training is being offered free of charge to staff.

Multi Trauma Box kits save lives

“Every second counts in an emergency,” said Naomi Webborn, Head of Marketing at Dawsons.
“These Multi Trauma Box’s save lives, but too often they’re overlooked or unused because people don’t know where they are or worry about using them incorrectly. We want to change that—starting here in Swansea, and then across the UK. By raising awareness and building confidence, our industry can create a ripple effect that makes a real difference.”

The inspiration behind the campaign came earlier this year when respected industry trainer Stephen Brown shared his remarkable story of saving a stranger’s life with a defibrillator. His experience brought home the urgent need for better awareness, accessibility, and preparedness across all communities.

Our mission is simple:

Simon Tucker (Trustee) from Heartbeat Trust UK added:

“Our mission is simple: to ensure life-saving equipment and training are available to everyone, everywhere. Partnering with Dawsons allows us to connect with communities in a completely new way, through an industry that touches so many lives every single day. By empowering their team, Dawsons are not only protecting colleagues and clients, but also setting an inspiring example for businesses nationwide.”

Campaign Highlights

  • Branch-wide training: Every Dawsons branch will take part in defibrillator and Multi Trauma Box training.
  • Staff challenges: Fun internal competitions will raise awareness and engage employees in the run-up to Restart a Heart Day.

  • Community event: On 16th October, Dawsons and Heartbeat Trust UK will host a public event at Swansea’s Quadrant Centre, showing how simple life-saving equipment is to use and answering questions from the community.

  • Industry leadership: Dawsons are encouraging estate agents and property professionals nationwide to take part, with the support of Agents Giving.

Accessible lifesaving equipment and free community training

Heartbeat Trust UK is a charity which aims to provide publicly accessible lifesaving equipment and free community training. Having initially rolled out defibrillators they have now extended this to include CBC kits thus providing multi trauma boxes.

Their website: HeartBeatTrustUK | (which houses lots of useful factual information for you to look over)

The website for the defb finder is DefibFinder – find the defibrillators nearest you. This is the site that is used by all emergency services to find your nearest defib..

The defibs and cabinets and CBC kits can be purchased from Heartbeat Trust.

CBC kits are £95 ( VAT exempt) and contain military grade equipment. Tourniquet, haemostatic gauze to accelerate clotting, fox chest seal , trauma fix bandage, blunt edged shears, gloves, foil blanket, face shield for CPR. Also included is a simple to follow body map instructions card. The kits are manufactured by Turtle Engineering who provide the majority of kits in UK and were designed in conjunction with the principal foundation in England The Daniel Baird Foundation who have provided over 30,000 CBC Kits in England . (As an aside Lynne Baird has been a great support and friend and is the mother of Daniel who tragically died as the result of a stabbing in 2019).
