Who know's When it Will End Challenge
Group Partner Godfrey Haire of Arun Estates is taking on ‘Who Knows When it Will End’ challenge, a 10k cycle ride at home every day. Godfrey intends to make up for the forty nine days he has been in lockdown cycling 490k and then 10k everyday going forward.

Stepping up the challenge
This Friday the 8th May Godfrey will be taking on a 2,000ft climb whilst cycling his daily 10k challenge.
For each ÂŁ1.00 donated he will add an extra foot to the climb.

He made it at 3,800 ft
Congratulations Godfrey, on your massive relentless challenge cycling 10k at the staggering 3,800 feet so that everyone who donated in your words “Got there moneys worth”. All in aid of the Rainbow Trust.
Henry has been ill since birth
Godfrey comments “many of you know that one of our children, Henry has been ill since birth, with Posterior Urethral Valves which has left him with severe kidney and bladder damage and he is fed through a tube in his stomach. He has had his bladder reconstructed using a part of his bowel and has to be catheterised several times a day. In the future he will need a kidney transplant.
Nikki has become a valued person in our lives
As a family we are supported by Nikki, from Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, who helps us out both emotionally and practically whenever we need her. Nikki has become a valued person in our lives and we are grateful every day that she can support us all.
Thomas has grown up in the shadow of Henry's illness
Rainbow Trust supports the whole family, and for us, that means making sure Thomas gets as much focus as we can. Because Thomas is the younger sibling, he has grown up in the shadow of Henry’s illness, fitting around the hospital appointments, operations and treatment. Thomas takes it all in his stride, he knows no different, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t greatly affected by our situation.

So this year is for Thomas! I am not planning any crazy challenges or adventures to persuade you to support the charity (this doesn’t mean i won’t!), this year I am simply asking you to help me, help Rainbow Trust to give more time to siblings.

5,157 hours of sibling support
Last year Rainbow Trust gave over 5,157 hours of sibling support and held 88 family and sibling days to bring families in similar situations together to create new friendship and support networks.
Per child, a sibling day costs the charity ÂŁ212, this year I am not setting a target but with your help we should be able to fund lots of these days, not only for Thomas but the 1,230 siblings Rainbow Trust Family Support Workers support each year.
