Our 2023 Glitter Ball Winner: Abby Scott of Archer & Co

Natalie Barton representing PROPERTYMARK

Put in ballet shoes at the age of 2 in a bid to cure me of my clumsiness, dance has been a part of my life for longer than I can remember. I still trip over my own feet walking on a flat surface, but dancing has remained a passion long after hanging up the ballet shoes.

Before falling into property as a letting agent 7 years ago, then becoming Digital Communities and Marketing Officer for Propertymark earlier this year, I used to drive around rural Norfolk as a peripatetic dance teacher by day and stalk Strictly stars by night. A magpie for sequins and sparkle, I’ve been a Strictly superfan for years, although lessons in a church room where the average age was 60+ were rather less glamourous and rather more basic than the Agents Do Strictly experience.

I’m looking forward to stepping out from the digital world onto the dancefloor, and to rallying Propertymark members and the team at Arbon House into contributing to such a worthwhile charity.

Vanessa Bailey representing the GOTO Group

I am super excited to be taking part in the Agents Giving Strictly Agents Fundraiser. I have taken part in several charity fundraising events in the past, but most involved running, so this will be a new challenge!

I am a bit of a Strictly Super fan and made my husband do a choreographed dance routine at our wedding, but apart from that most dancing is confined to parties.

Working as an Account Manager at GOTO I talk to agents all over the country, and I am looking  to get support from all my clients and I hope to see some of them on the night. I’m doing this for the older ladies, and hope I can channel my inner Debbie McGee on the dance floor.

Abby Scott representing ARCHER AND CO

I’m Abby Scott, a 23-year-old Welsh estate agent with a serious case of dance fever.

I have worked for Archer & Co for three years, onboarding and marketing properties across Wales and England.

I’m a driven and passionate individual, dedicated to my career and love of dance.

I love spending time with my family and taking our gorgeous dog Jax on long walks in the beautiful Monmouthshire/Gloucestershire countryside.

David Elliott representing The Frost Partnership

Finance Director at the Frost Partnership, based in Beaconsfield, I live in High Wycombe with my wife Caroline and 10-year-old daughter Roisin.

63 years old, unfit, overweight, and with two left feet, Agents Giving Strictly Dancing presents a fantastic challenge. But what can possibly go wrong? Will I be a Bill Bailey 😊, or John Sergeant ☹

I guess we will find out on 14th July.

Kaitlin Stoddart representing Paramount

The reason I signed up for this challenge is to find the love of dancing again, from the age of 3 to 15 I danced every single week and loved every single moment.

So this is a challenge for myself to see if I remember some moves and get back into the swing!

I’m looking forward to experiencing this journey with the other dancers.

Will Davies Representing X1

Hello!

I’m Will Davies and I am the Enquiries and Viewings Manager for two of X1’s larger residential developments in Manchester. I love meeting new people every day and how fast paced the industry is.

I’m 25 and have lived in Manchester for the last 4 years – I enjoy going out for a good cocktail, socialising with friends and watching live music.

I don’t have much dancing experience although I took classes in acting and musical theatre in my teens. My claim to fame is being in an episode of Waterloo Road!

I’m really excited for the coming months of rehearsals and getting ready for the Agents Giving Dance Competition this Summer!

Zenara Henry-Drake representing Simply Conveyancing

‘’This is my third year attending the Agents Giving Ball, and it has been amazing to watch my friends in the industry and all involved get out of their comfort zone and dance.  It inspired me to say… sign me up! I am the worst dancer, so wish me luck!

It’s so important to give back and support the amazing charity work that Agents Giving does, and I look forward to getting involved in 2023! ‘’

Ben Madden representing Fine & Country

In a past life, when reasonably full of alcohol, I would have considered myself a bit of a mover. Nowadays, not so much. Last year most of my highlights involved helping others, so this opportunity for me to laugh at myself whilst probably entertaining others for all the wrong reasons, and raising money for charity, felt like both a great, and very stupid, idea – let’s do it!

Away from the snake hips, I’m married and have three beautiful daughters, and take my fitness reasonably seriously. I’ve been in agency for close to 20 years, and owned an independent agency in West London for 13 years, which I exited in 2021. We now operate several Fine & Country licenses across London and Surrey, and I spend a reasonable chunk of my time coaching and mentoring agents around the country.

Mal McCallion representing Get Agent

Whilst it’s not entirely true to say that my dance experience peaked during some amusing 90’s subcultures, it’s rare that I’ve given it full ‘expression’ since. However, the superhuman efforts of all of those involved in Agents Giving, and its incredible causes over the years, has made me ‘box step’ up to join them this year.

I’m the Chief Operating Officer at GetAgent, where ‘quality counts’ is our main focus. Here’s hoping that the quality of effort that’s going to go into my routine is reflected in the quality of output on the night 🙂

I live in Cambridgeshire with my two teenage sons who remain unconvinced that this is a good idea. Come along and be the judges of that on 14 July!

A NOTE FROM OUR PREVIOUS GLITTER BALL WINNER

GOOD LUCK TO OUR 2023 CONTENDERS

Having taken part in this process, back in 2017, I can wholeheartedly say that these brave bunch have their work cut out.  Professional dancers expect a lot and are used to dancing with other professionals, so they work you hard.  I have to say that all of the team at Wright Rythmn in Enfield are AMAZING and have so much patience and teaching ability, but that doesn’t mean they just let you coast along at your own pace!

I absolutely loved taking part in this charity event and will be heading along to training classes to watch (and envy) as the new contenders are put through their paces.  I wish every one of them all of the luck and support they require, hope you don’t get sore toes (I had a broken toe for 3 months of my classes, so I know what pain that is) and I urge all of you to support these crazy and wonderful people!
