What's it all about?

Everything you need to know

  • How Padel Works
Padel is an energetic and tactical sport played in a glass-enclosed court around a third the size of a tennis court. What makes it unique is that players can use the surrounding walls to bounce the ball, creating exciting rallies and clever plays.  The rackets are solid with holes – quite different from traditional tennis rackets – and the balls are similar to tennis balls, though slightly softer due to lower pressure.

  • Scoring and Match Format
Padel follows the same scoring system as tennis – 15, 30, 40 and game – with matches typically played over the best of three sets

  • Serving and Rally Play
Serves must be underarm, and the ball needs to bounce behind the service line before being struck diagonally into the opponent’s service box. From there, players can either hit the ball before it bounces or allow it to bounce once. The ball can also be played off the walls after it bounces, making for a game that’s both fast-paced and full of strategy.

  • Winning Points
You score a point when your opponent fails to return the ball, hits it into the net, or if the ball hits a wall before touching the ground.
