Children with life-limiting or long-term conditions are set to have their dreams come true

More than 40 children with life-limiting or long-term conditions are set to have their dreams come true thanks to the generosity of the UK’s letting agents.

The Agent Rainmaker Live event  – which supports agents looking to grow their businesses – raised an incredible £43,000 for the Promise Dreams charity.

With £1,000 currently allocated for each dream application and 41 children currently on the waiting list, it means every single one of those families will be able to access funds – whether it’s for adaptations to their homes, specialist equipment such as wheelchairs or trikes, a holiday, or anything else they choose.

The donation was part of an ongoing partnership between Promise Dreams (which covers the whole of the UK and is based in Wolverhampton) and the business coaching team at Agent Rainmaker, which also has its headquarters in Wolverhampton.

With it being the first event after the pandemic, they weren’t sure what to expect

Charity manager Beverley Bird said they were ‘elated and extremely grateful’ to receive the funds.

Beverley added: “The Agent Rainmaker team was so determined to raise funds, they produced videos which were shown at the event to bring to life what we do, they organised a live auction, gave us all the proceeds of the event video filmed over the weekend, and even produced a video for us to use for marketing the charity.

“The agents were so happy to be there and so friendly – with it being the first event after the pandemic, we weren’t sure what to expect or how generous people would be able to be. That meant it was a big shock to see the total rising through the weekend.

“The gratitude we feel to the Agent Rainmaker team goes beyond this event, they have taken us under their wing and without them I’m not sure we’d still be here. Their ongoing support and the difference that makes to the Promise Dreams children is incredible.”

The difference a dream can make to a family is immeasurable

Sally Lawson, Founder of Agent Rainmaker and herself a letting agent with more than 30 years of experience, said it was a privilege to support the charity.

“The difference a dream can make to a family is immeasurable, whether it’s a once-in-a-lifetime holiday or a practical alteration to their home which will make everyday life a little less complicated. Promise Dreams is a very special charity which we have been proud to fundraise for over the last few years.

“We’re thankful for the generosity of the Agent Rainmaker Live attendees. The last time we held the Live event in 2019, we raised £34,000 so to beat that total by £9,000 was a fantastic feeling.”

Promise Dreams helps children from anywhere in the UK
