Richard Payne has been appointed as the President of the BHEAA for 2026. Richard is a Property Auctioneer at Clive Emson Auctioneers and a highly respected figure within the industry, bringing with him over 20 years of dedicated service on the BHEAA Council. His presidency coincides with a significant milestone for the Association as it celebrates its 140th anniversary, which will be marked under the theme “Bringing Down the Hammer.” Richard is honoured to lead the Association through this landmark year.
For his presidential year, Richard has chosen to support The Rockinghorse Children’s Charity as his nominated cause. Founded in 1967, this well-established Brighton-based charity provides vital, life-saving medical equipment and essential services to sick children and their families across Sussex. The BHEAA is proud to support such a longstanding and impactful local charity and is committed to raising meaningful funds throughout the year to help improve outcomes for children in need.
The principal fundraising event will be the Association’s Annual Dinner, to be held on Friday 6 February 2026 at The Grand Hotel, Brighton. This flagship event is the highlight of the BHEAA calendar and the primary opportunity to raise funds for the President’s chosen charity. The evening will include a drinks reception, a three-course dinner, and live entertainment, bringing together professionals from across the property and auctioneering sectors to celebrate the Association’s anniversary while supporting an important charitable cause.
