Glyn McKenna Head of Land & New Homes at Nock Deighton and Agents Giving Regional Ambassador had been disappointed of the loss of their Charity Golf Day last year but also the passing of golfer Willie Thorne.
Glyn comments “I was only speaking to his agent a couple of weeks before his passing who explained that Willie wanted to accommodate any date that we rearranged for as he really wanted to attend and help. Such a shame that is no longer possible”.
Glyn has now put in place the initial enquiries to get the Golf Day rearranged for 17th September 2021. The funds raised moving forward will be allocated rather differently.
Last year, Nock Deighton lost their company chairman Robin Nettleton. A very popular and well known figure in the area, they were keen to set something up in his memory. Nock Deighton are in the process of registering “Robin’s Foundation” which will basically be powered by Nock Deighton but will be the branding for every event they host and organise.
The idea is that local causes to the areas they operate in can approach Nock Deighton not only for financial support but for other help too which could be volunteering on the day or providing different things that may be required.
Glyn comments “Being brand new I’m sure it will adapt and evolve as it starts and grows so I will keep you posted”.
Glyn applied for an Agents Giving grant supported by the Guild of Property Professionals. We wish you all the best for your charity Golf Day.
