Property Industry fundraiser for Computers for Schools Stephen Brown of Stephen J Brown Consultancy Ltd has connected with Markers For Mindfulness, a charity that helps local schools who are affected by budget cuts.
With the cost of living at an all time high, many families can’t pay their bills let alone pay for their children’s basic materials needed for school. Markers For Mindfulness is to help ease the burden and raise awareness for student mental well-being.
Stephen along with members of the Barnet Walking Football Team are continuously collecting and donating on to schools in the Barnet and Harrow area. Stephen comments “Supporting our schools, parents and children struggling to pay bills, let alone buy pens, pencils arts & crafts is out of their reach. Every donation helps, we really appreciate any support in these challenging times”.
Daniel Lloyd a local Didcot student, helping to provide supplies to schools and groups throughout their area and Oxfordshire, also helping individual students in need of school supplies.
The project was set up in January 2020 to help with school budget cuts while helping to highlight and spark conversations about staff and student mental well-being. They have raised funds and also collected unwanted stationery items to recycle and put to good use. Since its start over 70 boxes have been sent out and over 120 individual students were helped to ensure they have everything they need to help them through school.
Any support of unwanted stationary items can be dropped off at the Markers for Mindfulness drop-off points: – inside Didcot Wave – Space Store, 45 Orchard Street, Orchard Centre, Didcot.
