On 30th and 31st August 2019 the Poole Townsend team swam, kayaked, rode and ran through the Lake District to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK
In June 2014 Will Taylor was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a severe muscle wasting condition for which there is no treatment or cure. Will is now 9 years old, and the condition is impacting on his mobility and his life.
In a bid to help in finding an effective treatment for Will, his Mum and Dad, Sue and Sam, have set up this unique challenge – the Longest, Steepest, Highest Quadrathlon.
Participants will Swim 1 mile then Kayak 12 miles in Windermere; the longest lake in England. Immediately afterwards they will cycle from Waterhead to Wasdale Head, riding over Wrynose Pass and then Hardnott Pass; the steepest road in England with a gradient of up to 33%
After an overnight stay, the team will finish by running or walking from Wasdale Head in Great Langdale over Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England at 978 metres.
To apply for a grant please complete the application form and the team will be in touch.
The grant is for agents and suppliers to the industry to help with their event set up costs. Grants of up to £250 per office per year can be provided and you will need to supply a write up of your event along with an image to help Agents Giving promote your event oral social media platforms and website. Applicants will be given the Agents Giving logo to use in their marketing and PR. It is so simple to apply. Terms and conditions apply.
There are many ways to get involved with Agents Giving from organising your own fundraising event to coming to one of ours.
You can organise an event and raise money for Agents Giving, just as many of our supporters do, from cycle rides, to canoeing coast to coast to a Soapbox Challenge event. Come to one of our events, and you’ll have a great time with industry colleagues and at the same time raise money for many amazing charities and wonderful causes across the UK.
In 2018, together with all our supporters, we donated to over 80 charities. In 2019 we want to beat that, so get in touch and add your charity to the list. All agents that work with us can display our logo on their website and marketing collateral. We will also send you window stickers for you to display to show your community that you are part of the Agents Giving network.
