The fourth annual Agents Giving Charity Ball took place on 8th December 2017 at The Royal Lancaster Hotel London sponsored by Goodlord. Strictly Agents Dancing returned with a whole new line up with fifteen of the industry’s most courageous dancers with their professional couples with one aim – to win the Agents Giving Glitter Ball Trophy. This year’s contestants worked for 6 months with Wright Rythmn Ballroom & Latin American Dance School in Enfield, to perfect their 2-minute performance in front of our Agents Giving audience.
Goodlord is a rental transaction platform built by agents for UK letting agents, and the only company that specialises in serving and reinventing the lettings market. The 2017 awards recognised some very special fundraising stories, personal challenges, and all the great charity and community work carried out by the industry over the last year.
Congratulations to Simon Bradbury of Thomas Morris Estate Agents.
“It was wonderful to be recognized by industry peers at the Fundraising Champion Awards last year. I have been immensely proud to fundraise for charities close to my family such as cancer charities; Macmillan, St Barnabas, Marie Curie as well as The British Heart Foundation and our local foodbanks who we continue to support throughout the year. I enjoy setting myself personal challenges such as bike rides, half marathon’s and triathlons to provide support and awareness for these causes close to my heart”.
Jamie Aspland, Branch Manager, Pygott & Crone
“Although the activities we have undertaken to help those in need across the many wonderful charities supported by Agents Giving are not about awards and prize-winning it really does humble us all at Embrace Mortgage Services to know that our efforts are thought so well of. On a personal note, I love the fact that Agents Giving has helped motivate and support so many like-minded folk in our industry. Their constant willingness and unselfish approach to charitable organisations make me proud to have EMS work in partnership with them. More and more of our industry colleagues are sitting up, taking note and joining in …… just how it should be”.
Andrew Trantum, Managing Director, Embrace Mortgage Services
“It was a real honour to be part of an event – and industry – celebrating so many fundraising champions. So being crowned as winners of the ‘Best Corporate Social Responsibility’ campaign filled us with enormous pride. The accolade was a real credit to the home-grown talents of our whole team, who embraced all our community and charity initiatives with enthusiasm and determination. It was rewarding to know that not only had we made a positive difference our local communities, but that we had also united our people in a common goal. The award has inspired us to break new ground this year, both in the ways we raise money – and how we reach out into diverse communities to support needy groups and good causes”.
Emily Wilkinson, Project Co-ordinator, Lindley & Simpson
“There are so many people who contributed to the Agents Giving Ball and I’d like to highlight these special three: Goodlord for their sponsorship, Touchright for their support and Reapit for their incredible generosity.
Additionally, the dancers were amazing – the fifteen of you trained so hard, as was evidenced by the excellent performances, plus each of you raised a minimum of £1,500, some much more – incredible.
Then there were all of you who donated auction prizes – Gary Barker, Michael Stoop, David Newnes, Sim Sekhon, Richard Palfreeman and Kathryn Rainbird-Clarke – so generous, thank you. And perhaps above all, the Fundraising Champions of 2017 and all those who helped raise over £1million in the last 12 months. Your contribution to your communities, local and national charities and consequently your industry is remarkable and makes me, for one, incredibly proud to be associated with estate agency.”
