Cycling 150 miles in aid of Holding On Letting Go
Ryan Dennis the Manager at Harrisons Residential in Sittingbourne has been won over on cycling through covid_19 lockdown.
Ryan decided to set himself a 150 mile cycling challenge around the Kent coast for the amazing Holding On Letting Go bereavement charity.
Ryan quotes “I have a young daughter myself, and the thought of her ever having to go through the grieving processes really brings home to me why charities such as Holding On Letting Go are needed to support our children during some of the darkest times of their lives” Ryan, whose ride took place on Saturday 29th August 2020 has a justgiving link and has set a target of raising £1,000.

Many charities facing real difficultites
Chris Ellis, Managing Director of Harrisons Residential agency which are based in Sittingbourne, Kent is fundraising for the local children’s bereavement charity Holding On Letting Go.
At this present time we are all aware that charities are facing real difficulties currently the Harrisons team wanted to help, Chris Ellis says: “Everyone is supporting the NHS currently and rightly so, however, there are so many charities that go missed and this cause, to me, really hits home when kids come into it.”

Harrisons Residential hope to raise £1,000
Holding On Letting Go supports children and their families through the grieving process. Unfortunately, due to social distancing measures the charity has already had to cancel several events.

Key ways to support are bereavement weekends
One of the key ways that they provide support is via their bereavement support weekends which are held monthly and are fully subscribed. Unfortunately due to the coronavirus social distancing measures that we have in place the charity has already had to cancel several weekends, meaning that they already have a backlog of the children already referred to them at a time when many more children and their families will be needing to access their support and services.
