James dressing up for St Barnabas Charity 20 Apr 2020

'Fancy Dress Friday' to cheer up their local community

Branch Manager James Brock at Michael Jones & Company estate agents in Goring-by-Sea, is raising funds for St Barnabas House by running a ‘Fancy Dress Friday’ to cheer up his local community.

James on finding out that the Brighton Marathon had been postponed, got together with his friends at his triathlon club ‘Tuff Fitty’ to find away to continue to raise funds for their great cause by making the best of their daily exercise through lockdown.

The response from the community has been fantastic

Delighted residents of Gouring-by-the-Sea over the last four weekends, where James lives, have  seen him running past their houses on a Friday morning in outfits which have so far included The Cat in the Hat, Batman, Peppa Pig and an Elf.

James comments “The response from the community has been fantastic – it’s a great way to help lift spirits and put a smile on people’s faces. I’ve had people beep their horns, clap, wave and shout.

St Barnabas Charity is close to my heart

James has already raised £610 for St Barnabas House, smashing his original target of £100.

James tells, “It feels superb to have raised over six times my target already. St Barnabas House is a charity close to my heart as the hospice offered superb care to my father-in-law and other members of my extended family.”
