Computers for Schools £200,000 Fundraising Scheme 14 Jan 2021
Our Industry is at the heart of the community
At Agents Giving we are getting behind Estate Agency Industry in the UK to help raise funds for The Computers For Schools initiative to purchase and donate tablets to children and families who are sadly lacking access to IT devises in our local communities.
The industry came out in force to help raise funds in all our local communities to provide less fortunate children with computers, laptops and tablets to provide much needed help and support with their online learning and home-schooling during the lockdown.
This initiative is spearheaded by industry figure Stephen Brown at SJB Consultancy and Jerry Lyons at Estate Agent Content, we are all getting behind this to help out our local schools who sadly now through budget cuts are in desperate need to help those children who cannot get connected.
Stephen is currently working with Markers For Mindfulness to support schools with much needed stationary.
If you have any unwanted stationary please contact Stephen J Brown Consultancy on Facebook Private Message.
Update:
Stephen has received generous donations from all over the UK from estate agents, suppliers and the Barnet Walking Football Club. To date; Computers For Schools have been able to distribute 1210 computers and tablets to schools throughout the UK.
Fundraising Total as at 15/03/2023
£129,703

Stephen Brown
Whilst Stephen has been selflessly fundraising for his Computers for Schools campaign he has suffered a personal tragedy with the loss of his loving wife Sam. We wish Stephen and his boys our deepest sympathy at this terrible time, and urge everyone to consider a donation to this amazing cause, if they can. Thank you from all at Agents Giving.

The switch to remote learning has proved to be challenging
As funds are coming in to the #computersforschools campaign, Stephen Brown has been working with agents to highlight the schools most in need of IT equipment in their community. One of the the first donations of eight tablets has been organised by Luke St Clair of Knightsbridge Estate Agents, Leicester to go to The Kibworth School.
Some families just don't have the funds to buy equipment

A further donation of five laptops highlighted by James Du Pavey Estate Agents is the Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, Stoke-on-Trent. Vice Principal at OSSMA Mr Smart commented “The donation of these laptops is incredibly appreciated by the academy. Serving a community in one of the most deprived areas of Stoke-on-Trent, the switch to remote learning has proved to be challenging across both lockdowns. Staff and student audits showed massive gaps where households did not have access to digital devices to access the work that teachers were providing. Initiatives such as this one play a massive part in ensuring that deprived families can access the full curriculum and not be at a disadvantage to their peers when we resume face to face teaching.
When handing out these laptops the appreciation from the families was palpable as the parents wanted to do everything they could to support their child’s education, they just did not have the funds to buy equipment. As a result we now have fewer students coming back to us with a knowledge deficit that would have widened as each week of lockdown passed”.

We want to enable children to get online
The ultimate goal was to raise £50,000, but now we have set our target at £200,000 to provide in some cases desperate support to children and their families to enable them to get online and access their home-schooling lessons. All agents operate in and support the heart of local communities and by donating some much needed equipment you will not only be helping, but enabling local children that need it the most to get and maintain access to their education.
Many agents are already doing this
Your donation will make such a positive difference in helping children with their remote learning, keep up with their studies and reach their true potential.
Many agents are already doing this such as the Knightsbridge Lettings team in Leicester, delivering a trolley full of tablets distributed to a selection of local primary schools.
So please get behind this and do what you can to help.
